As the title suggests, this work is in 3 sections. The Prologue section sets a somber mood and builds directly into the Conflict. Within the Conflict section, groups of instruments play off each other to represent the parties in conflict. Trumpets sound calls to action with explosions from the percussion integrated into the mix. The Elegy section restates and develops the themes from the Prologue, while providing glimpses of hope for true resolutions within the changed post-conflict reality.
This Level 3 composition offers ample opportunities for the ensemble to develop and is appropriate for a concert setting.
